Guidelines for Authors

The Journal of the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (JSTAN) is a biannual journal of the Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN). The Science Teachers Association of Nigeria (STAN) was established in 1957 to promote co-operation among the Science Teachers in Nigeria with a view to raising the standard of science education in the country, to provide a forum for discussion by science teachers on matters of common interest in addition to helping science teachers keep in touch with development in science and its application to industry and commerce.
Copyright: JSTAN users have the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of articles. Reproduction is authorized provided the source is appropriately acknowledged. Articles for publication should not have been previously published.
Language: Articles and other materials are accepted in English Language only.
Material Submission: all manuscripts should be submitted electronically by online submission system or e-mail ( to the editor for review.
The Editorial Board of JSTAN welcomes articles of relevance to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education.
Articles should not exceed 20 pages of A4 paper typed double-spaced on one side only. Author(s) name, affiliation and brief profile should be typed on a separate page and attached to the article. Abstract of not more than 150 words must be presented with the title on a separate page. At the end of the abstract, the author(s) should give up to five keywords.
Authors are encouraged to include relevant diagrams, graphs, tables and photos to illustrate their articles. All materials except photos and diagrams should arrive in Words and should conform to APA (6th edition) format. Diagrams and graphs should be provided as finished black and white line artwork or electronic images, which must be inserted in the manuscript as appropriate.
Photos should be supplied unscreened in its original form or in electronic form.
Author(s) are required to check with the editor ( if the need arises. Upon receipt of an electronic submission, a confirmation will be emailed to the Primary author only.
